A rare case of primary extragenital choriocarcinoma in the spleen presenting as acute abdominal pain

Abstract Objectives This study reports a rare case of primary extragenital choriocarcinoma in the spleen presenting as acute abdominal pain. We expect this to provide more valuable information for clinicians future. Case presentation The patient was 22-year-old woman, with healthy child and history bilateral ovarian cyst resection week before, who presented severe sudden pain left upper abdomen. admitted emergency department. Emergency ultrasound revealed huge solid mass enlarged spleen. computed tomography examination suggested splenic rupture. Microscopic confirmed that contained nested syncytiotrophoblast cytotrophoblast cells, serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) level 54,547.6 IU/L (normal β-hCG <5 IU/L) after surgery. Primary considered cause Conclusions is extremely rare. Serum tests systemic ultrasonography are great value diagnosis disease.
